The Perfect Palette : Fifty Inspired Color Plans for Painting Every Roomin Your Home Bonnie Rosser Krims wrote The Perfect Palette for those brave souls ready to try something that has daunted many an interior designer: painting the walls something besides white. Even though paint is one of the least expensive ways to change the look of a room, most people find those little cards of color chips too intimidating. Krims's 50 color plans are foolproof combinations based on the aesthetics of certain places and familiar objects, with very specific details to help you plan which palette to use with your furnishings. Each page describes a palette of three Benjamin Moore paint colors, though Krims provides a cross-reference to two other brands and urges readers not to feel limited to a particular brand. Accent and trim colors are suggested, and three adjectives are used to describe the mood of the palette. "Meet Me in Miami," a soft orange/blue/green palette, is "fun, easygoing, peaceful" and "works well in ranch houses, deck houses, and 1950s contemporary houses;" Krims suggests it specifically for brightening a basement or family room. "The Emerald Isle," a green/yellow/violet combination with accents of dark orange and white trim, is "sassy, lush, luminous," and will make darker wood furniture "look lovely." Color Palettes is both intensely practical and utterly lovely, and will almost certainly inspire some brave experimentation. No more boring white rooms! --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Comments: Lovely book, so easy to read and nice to browse through!
I like this book because it is so easy to read and use. The photos and drawings are especially beautiful and give you an idea of how the color recipes will look in a room. The most fun for me was to flip through all of the different color sections and try to imagine the colors in my own house. I love how the text helps the reader to understand the mood and atmosphere that the recipes will create. I have already chosen three recipes for my house and bought 1 quart each of the paint (like the author suggests)! I appreciated that the more complicated reading about painting techniques, tips and tools are separated out into the intro and appendices. I expected these sections to be "heavy" reading and hard to get through but they are very simple and straightforward. I actually liked reading them after enjoying the beautiful recipes... These sections are VERY useful and have really prepared me to paint it "right" the first time. Especially helpful are the tips on how to make a hall look deeper, or a room look less boxy, etc.

My favorite recipes: "Blueberry Hill" "Pompeii" and "Lilac."

This was a very small financial investment in a book that will really change my whole house.

I am choosing colors that are more adventurous than I would ever have chosen before.

Enjoy this book, I did (and still do).

Comments: Beautiful coffee table quality HOW TO book THAT REALLY WORKS
I'm not a writer, and I'm REALLY no interior decorator. So, when I looked through the zillions of How To books, this one just stood out. I'd even checked out one of the Martha Stewart ones - no contest. With Stewart's methods you'd need a month and a staff of painters. Sorry Martha, you never picked up a brush.

But not only is The Perfect Palette a gorgeous book with flawless room color combining recipes that come out looking amazing, but Bonnie Krims ACTUALLY USED THEM ALL, she's tried them. Plus, she's done her own illustrations and written a little story about each recipe. The book is like a coffee table book, but it's also a really good HOW TO kind of book. I thought doing a new paint job on my rooms was going to be a real drudge, but with this book I really got into it because the colors were so different from what I'd normally think would work, but on the walls, amazing!

Then, based on the finished walls, I used the book's instructions on setting up a room, and after rearranging some of the furniture and knick-knacks and lamps - my friends were blown away. That's all I can say. If you're really serious about getting your rooms in shape, I think this is THE book to buy.

Comments: The quintessential guide for choosing paint color
I kept hearing about this book and wondering what all the hoopla was about. Now I understand. This book is really the quintessential guide for choosing paint color. The author includes every imaginable bit of practical information about paint and color principles within the introduction and appendices, rather than crowding the main body of text with all the dry details, as most books do. Then, the main body of text is filled with easily approachable and lovely color schemes. It is a real pleasure to go through the information and choose a paint color scheme, not the typical drudgery. This book does it all.

Comments: Full of practical information, and great ideas, as well
What I loved about this book is that it gives the reader all the practical information s/he needs about interior paint -- which other books don't do. Since the introduction and the appendices are the places where that information is provided, the rest of the book can be devoted to giving 50 different color schemes for painting the home. Krims even gives the exact paint numbers from three different paint manufacturers! This is a first-rate book: it will take you from clueless to having a beautifully painted interior.

Comments: It changed my mind just in time!
The painters were at the point of buying the paint and I was going to choose white with white, just variations of white. I love color, but didn't feel confident enough to live with my choices. Thank goodness the book arrived the very same day! I chose the scandanavian combination, and love it, however we toned down the blue to 1/2. The painters were wonderful, and I love the change. The house feels very peaceful. The only complaints I might have are that there is not enough explanation of how to continue the decorating once the colors are chosen and the colors are not exactly true to the examples shown; but I'd buy the book again!

Comments: A tremendous help to combine colors effectively
This book is exactly what I needed to change the stark white walls of my new home into beautiful rooms filled with harmonious color. I thoroughly enjoyed the explanation of color combination, having color to flow from room to room, and most importantly how to begin! This book is very enjoyable and easy to read. I highly recommend it to people like me who are bored with white walls and intimidated by painting with color!

Comments: A fabulous resource
When the book arrived, I thought, "Oh no." Lovely but not practical enough. I've changed my mind. I've referred to it a hundred times as we redo our first home. 2 caveats: needs an actual photo for each recipe (see "Purple Rain" for 1 of the few unhelpful pages) and the swatch/photo/ drawing is often very different from the paint strip and/or how the paint looks on the wall. Otherwise, I've thoroughly enjoyed it and wish there were about 20 more recipes in the book.

I didn't understand the point. I thought there would be pictures of each of the color schemes. In fact there are only a few photos, and many drawings and explanations of how the rooms feel. Waste of money. (note: I've bought hundreds of books from Amazon and this is my first negative review.)

Comments: Great concept, but low quality color printing is a problem
I really like the concept behind this book, but the low quality printing (at least for the paperback edition) makes it very hard to use. I work in the marketing communications field and I know it's difficult to reproduce colors exactly, but many of the paint chip colors shown in this book bear no resemblance to the actual paint chips you can find at your Benjamin Moore paint store. To use this book I had to stand in front of the paint chip display at the paint store and figure out what the "real" colors were supposed to be for each of the palettes.

This book is a must-have for every coffee table AND home improvement book shelf. Not only is it a beautiful book to read, it is essential to anyone preparing to paint their home. Comments: A Helpful Book for Real People
This is the most instructive of the color guide books I have purchased, providing tips on coordinating and accent colors, and even suggestions on what wood finishes complement the color schemes. The emphasis is on what PAINT can do for your home, even if your home isn't straight out of Architectural Digest. I do agree with other reviewers that a major shortcoming is using sketches to "illustrate" the palettes. Photographs would be much more helpful.

I really enjoyed using this paint guide. Comments: Beware... Benjamin Moore is Changing Its Palette
I've really enjoyed studying the book, and am ready to implement one of the pallets in my house. BIG Problem! Recommendations are based on Benjamin Moore, and they are changing their pallet in March 2000. I tried to collect all the paint chips listed in the book (because the book does not accurately portray the intended colors), but the stores are not restocking the paint chips. I don't know where to find Pratt & Lambert paint (an alternative listed), which leaves me w/ Pittsburgh paints (the only other alternative).

Perhaps the publisher or author can publish (via website?) an update to the colors once Benjamin Moore releases their new pallet.

The book was great while it lasted.

Comments: CROSS REFERENCING COLOR
In a recent review, it came to my attention that a reader felt you can't get the new Benjamin Moore paint colors or other paint brands mixed to match the colors in The Perfect Palette book. It should be clarified that any paint store can mix any paint color from any paint chip any time. In addition, all Benjamin Moore paint dealers will continue to mix any of the old Benjamin Moore colors using the old numbers whenever they are asked to do so. This book will continue to be a tremendously useful resource for choosing paint colors well into the future.

Comments: Great idea, bad drawings
I am impressed with this book's approach, and the evocative palettes. I like the atmospheric and geographic references (Taos, Marblehead, etc.). However, I think the drawings are terrible, and I am surprised that the author is a "fine artist." Her pastel colors are nice, but the drawings, especially the "perspective" drawings are poorly executed. I am an amateur painter and I could have done a better job. The drawings are so poor to me that it distracts me from reading the text. So I really agree with the suggestion to use more photos - for aesthetic as well as practical reasons!

Comments: Why pick paint first?
I just attended a class on how to get a total decorating scheme from the selection of a single fabric, given by Jennifer Raffo, author of "Fabrique Technique." Her theory is the most logical that I've heard so far, as well as the easiest way to totally coordinate a room. The manufacturers of fabrics give you your color scheme in your "anchor" fabric, including wall and floor colors, so why get frustrated by picking out wall colors first, then trying to find a fabric to go with it? If the paint and fabric manufacturers would work together, we as consumers would have an easier time of decorating. Not everyone can afford an interior designer. The painting information contained was useful, but nothing that can't be found anywhere else.

Comments: Good Concept but needs photos, better color reproduction
I bought this book recently because the concept seemed very inviting: a book with 50 tried & true color schemes for painting rooms in my house. Unfortunately, I'm afraid I was expecting more than I received.

The book has 50 "recipes" of colors, each consisting of three major colors that would work well together, and recommendations for accent and trim colors. Each color recipe occupies two pages in the book.

The three colors are painted in rectangles on the top of the right page along with a text only description of recommended trim and accent colors. On the left page is either a photograph or a painting/sketch showing the colors in use with each other. So far, great. But the implementation...

Only 19 of the 50 recipes are illustrated by photographs of rooms, the rest are illustrated by a piece of artwork using the same color scheme but usually having nothing to do with a room of a house (e.g. a fish, a person on a bicycle, the Eifel tower,etc.). To make matters worse, the printing of the book (mine is hardcover edition) does not seem to do a good job of reproducing the colors. So, when there is a photograph, the colors in it don't seem to come close to the colors in the sample rectangles on the opposite page. This caused me confusion because now I don't know if the photo is representative, or the color patches, or neither. Only way to be sure would be to take the book to a store and look up the color samples on strips.

I think this would have been an excellent book concept if all the recipes had photos representing rooms with that color scheme, if the color reproduction of the book was much more accurate, and if examples of the recommended trim and accent colors were displayed in addition to the three major colors. And in the example usage of the colors, I really wanted to see rooms, not artwork.

That being said, I did pick up some good points from some of the limited text about picking colors in general, transitioning color schemes between adjacent rooms, etc. I don't think the book will be a long term reference on my bookshelf due to the above weeknesses.

A new edition of this book taking these things into consideration would be great!

Comments: Helped me to select color palette for new home
Out of all the decorating books I have purchased, this was the most immediately useful to me because I used it to select the color palette for my new home.

I purchased this book prior to closing on my new home, and used it to select room and accent colors for every single room in my home. The book encouraged me to use colors I naturally liked, but showed me how to combine colors so that going from room to room the colors transitioned well.

The book also provided paint chip #'s so I went to my paint store and looked up the colors in the book's palettes, and brought the appropriate chips home so I could see them in my own home.

I will use this book as a color reference guide whenever I do any further decorating projects.

Excellent value for the money also.

Comments: Colorful, but not practical
I'm a real novice when it comes to interior decorating--so when I got this book I was looking for someone to just tell me what works. Krims does attempt to do just that by selecting specific color palettes, but she doesn't provide enough actual real world examples to make the book useful to a novice like me. I need to see how the colors work together in real life, not just in a watercolor painting. I ended up sending the book back. The only reason I gave it a two instead of a one is that I got the sense that colors she selected really would work together--afterall they looked pretty good in the paintings.

Comments: The best!
This book is just awesome. I used several of the colors in the book and they looked wonderful on my walls. This is one of the few paint books that I have bought that actually provide the brand and color names. It is extremely frustrating to pick up decorating books or magazines, find a color that's appealing and then find no reference to the brand or color name. This book actually provides three different paint brands to pick from for each color. I also really liked her descriptions of different color combinations and the feelings (restful, cozy, bright) that goes along with the different colors. The price is reasonable so even if you don't use the colors in the book, its a great place to get ideas. I highly recommend this book. I hope she releases another!

Comments: Color Plans, not a decorating book
This book was extremely helpful to me in finding color combinations for various rooms. I found it especially useful in rooms where I already had a feature I couldn't/wouldn't change. For example, I have custom window shades in my kitchen that it isn't practical to replace, but I want to paint the walls. By using the color plans in the book for the colors in my shades, I've found three different choices for the walls that wouldn't have occurred to me on my own (probably because none of them are off-white).

Reading the other reviews, I think people who expect a 'decorating' book will be disapointed in this book. There are very few photographs of actual rooms, just a picture of each color combination. But if you need a reference for colors that work together you should find this book helpful. In addition to the three major colors in each scheme, the author suggests wood tones and accent colors to go with each plan. She also offers some excellent suggestions for choosing colors outside the plans, for example - use the darkest, richest end of the color chip to select a color, then work back to lighter shades until the color is usable in your particular situation.

I found the book very helpful, and feel certain it's a reference I will continue to use.

Comments: Great Ideas for the Creatively Confused!!
We just painted our bedroom this weekend and used this book to choose our color. We picked Benjamin Moore Orange 131 (warm and pumpkin-like) and it looks AMAZING! It's a color I never would have chosen, but thanks to this book we took a chance and it looks great. The only reason I'm giving the book 4 stars instead of 5 is because the illustrations are kind of lame - I wish the author had used more photographs of real rooms.

Comments: Very useful when you don't want to repaint
I looked at this book because we moved into a house where all the room were already painted in bright colors, and I wasn't at all sure what to do with them. Ms. Krims color palattes gave me several choices of color schemes that would incorporate the rooms that were already there, and have saved me a substantial amount of time and money repainting all the rooms. For instance, the living room when we got it was painted a medium dark grey-green, with yellow, dark green, red, and pink(!) for accent colors. We thought it looked awful, but were loathe to repaint the entire huge room. It turns out that this room is the right shade of green for doing "Emerald Isle", which we liked very much. With the culprit accent colors removed and replaced, suddenly our awful green living room isn't nearly so awful. Well worth the money we spent for it.

Comments: Good help with color choices
If you are like me, mixing and matching colors is not easy. This book gives 50 selections with three compatible colors in each. The colors are also cross referenced to the major brands so you know exactly what to buy. My only wish for improving the book would have been more pictures. There are many drawings that show the color schemes together but they could have had more real life pictures.

Comments: timid pastels -- how dull
Some of the three-color combos team up very pale blue with very pale green with a hint of off-white thrown in for interest and the rest continue along those lines. Few of the combos show anything darker than a light-midrange tone. That's not bad, it just wasn't what I was looking for.

Relatively few of the combos show an actual photo of a room; the rest show a hand-colored drawing of a randomly selected object. A pink flower with a green stem is very pleasant and pretty, but does little to help me visual a pink room with a green carpet. Maybe that's just my limitation, but if I was going to do all the visualization myself, why buy a book in the first place?

Lastly, times when a real room *is* shown, it frequently doesn't really showcase the colors in question. One combo has a light yellow accented with lavender, and the picture shows a yellow entryway which has a lavender sweater draped over a bench there. Yes, the colors look nice together... but are the homeowners supposed to leave the sweater there permanently? What if they accidentally leave a pink jacket there instead?! Oh no!

It seems 98% of this book could be summed up by saying "Paint your walls a light pastel color that pleases you. Then furnish with the stuff you already have. Trust me, it'll look okay." Not bad advice, but I was kind of hoping for more.

Comments: It's not perfect...but you'll get good results
I've tried two of the recipes, Mellow Yellow and Grandmother's Cameo and had very attractive results with both of them. A real time- and money-saver because the colors really do work beautifully together. It's enjoyable as well, to gain the confidence to try colors I normally wouldn't.

No, the photographs and the paint chips will not perfectly match the actual color on your wall. However, be assured that you will have colors that visually flow together...nothing jarring, nothing clashing. For anyone who has painted the same room three times within as many weeks (as I have) because each time a color wasn't quite right, you will appreciate this book!

I myself did not mind that there were mostly illustrations of the color "recipes" as opposed to all photographs. Your room isn't going to look exactly like the photographs anyway...

I must have tested 15 different colors for my family room and still wasn't happy with any of them. My husband couldn't believe how much money I'd wasted on buying quarts of paint, not to mention that he thought I was loosing my mind. I was beginning to wonder myself. Then I bought this book. I loved the recipe called "Apalachian Spring" and decided to use the yellow for my family room, the green for the den and the violet as an accent color. It worked! Finally, no more testing quarts. Comments: Wonderful Inspiration!
I bought this book when it first came out years ago and based the color scheme of my house on a "recipe" in the book. I pulled it out again recently hoping to paint my living room while still tying into all the other colors I initially used in the foyer and adjoining rooms... The color combinations in this book still strike me as the most beautiful I have seen. I have never found another book like it.

When I went to the paint store I found that Benjamin Moore had changed their paint color numbers, but the paint store had no problem mixing my chosen color for me from the book.

The best thing this book did was give me courage to use color. I caught the bug when I first painted and now there's no stopping me. It has given my house such personality and my accessories and artwork really stand out against the wall colors. None of the colors in the book are "wild" or "outrageous" (or I wouldn't have used them). Even though I used yellows and greens and other colors in different rooms, everything seems to flow really well because the colors were designed to go together.

I would definitely recommend this book.

Comments: Main Paint Colors Discontinued
At first I found the book very inspiring. It is very basic and simple which is what I needed. I picked my color recipe from the book and was off to the Benjamin Moore paint store. This is the paint recommended by the author, and she gives the paint chip numbers to match the color recipes in the book. However, Benjamin Moore has discontinued the numbers given in the book. You can still have the colors mixed, but there are no paint chip cards. The book also lists corresponding numbers for Pratt & Lambert paint, which I found to be nothing like the colors on the pages in the book. I came back from the paint store as always, with an overwhelming number of paint chips, which I was hoping to avoid by buying this book. Maybe I should just go with the author's colors without looking at any paint chips?!

I am very disappointed in this book. There are only 19 photos to illustrate 50 different color palettes. The rest are sketches, most not even of rooms. The colors that appear in the photographs are often several shades and/or tones different than the paint chips shown - apricot instead of rose, violet instead of blue. Ms. Krims suggests 3 main coordinating colors that go together, plus accent and trim colors. Even in the limited number of rooms that are shown in the photos, finding where all three, or even two, of these main colors are used together is a challenge. I was expecting to see rooms with her color schemes. I wasn't expecting to be shown 3 paint chips and to have to envision (guess) what a room would look like decorated in those colors. With this book, you have to just take Ms. Krims' word that the combinations will work in a room, because she doesn't put it in black and white ... or color.

The basic idea of this book is one that really appeals to me. Faced with the desire to decorate a new home and overwhelmed with the choices of color, I was hoping to find a palette that would work for me. In actuality, it's unlikely you'll find a palette that matches your tastes so perfectly that you'll choose to use the exact tones offered in the examples. What you will find is a collection of 50 palettes that should help give you some idea which color combinations are most pleasing both to your eye and are approved by a professional decorator. While you might not want the exact green and yellow in the example, you might learn that you really like the combination and you can start trying to find the shades you do want.

Where this book really falls short is in helping you take that next step. The pictures are too few to help you visualize the possibilities. Worse, each palette gets one page of text to describe it and its possibilities. Without fail, the first half of the page (at least) is taken up with flowery prose describing the natural setting that inspired the palette. This leaves a paragraph or so to describe the rooms best suited to the palette and advice on how to implement it. The book badly needs more details on this area and the author should either add another page of text for each palette or replace the nature guide material with more practical information.

When I finished this book, I felt like the color palettes were the result of years of experience but the book itself might have been produced in a week. This book is useful mostly as an idea generator and given its relatively low price it might well be worth the money to pick it up on that basis alone. I can't say it's the best color book I've purchased, but it did ultimately help me get to my personal color palette.

Comments: Helpful, but colors are no longer in production
I found this book very helpful in painting my new home. Problem is, the color numbers she uses are no longer in production. Benjamin Moore, Pratt and Lambert and Pittsburgh paints have changed their colors and cordinating number for you to use. You must judge the color and find a sample that closely reproduces the color. Needs to be updated with the new colors and numbers then I would highly recommend it.

I just liked the book for color palette inspirations. I've used several of the color combo's in painting furniture.

Krims favors cool-toned, pastel palettes, so if you like pinks and blues, you're in luck. Not enough earthy colors and modern combinations for me. More photos of rooms that use the palettes (rather than Krims' sometimes amateurish drawings) would help. Krims is at her best when she describes the "feel" of a palette -- casual, country, sophisticated, whatever -- but cloying when she goes on about how the swan boats in Boston inspired her to put red, blue and green together. And, as others have noted, the paint-chip numbers need to be updated.

Comments: TRIED AND TRUE
I am a complete stickler when it comes to decorating and paint color. I'll test quarts and quarts of different paint colors before choosing paint color for a room, and am very concerned about getting a flow of color throughout my house. The Perfect Palette has truly been a remarkable tool for me. Up to now, I have yet to find a book that provides paint color combinations and a detailed explanation for using them. Despite the books age, (it was published in '98) and the fact that Benjamin Moore changed their color numbers, this book is the only book that actually helped me to get the paint colors in my house working in a unified, cohesive fashion. The Perfect Palette is very, very useful, which is more than I can say for many of the newer paint books I've looked at. If you want to get your rooms beautifully painted and create a sense of connection between all the rooms in the house, buy this book. It is tried and true.

Comments: a good reference (not just for rooms)
The Perfect Palette is written in a romantic way, which seems customary in decorating books. It conjures up very imaginative ideas behind certain combinations of color, comparing the color schemes to daydreams of Paris in Winter, Swan Boats, and Russian Ballet. Each page has a description and a photograph or illustration using the chosen color scheme.
Though it is written romantically, it also has quite a bit of practical information on how to paint, with useful tips on the process. It is an easy to follow guide to (nearly) foolproof paint schemes, which translate well not only in your home, but also for artists looking for color combinations to use in painting and illustration.

Comments: Good resource but could be so much more useful
The paint chip numbers provided by Krim are invaluable, and she does an excellent job of picking counterintuitive color combinations that work. Bonnie Krims is obviously a talented colorist.

However, I have to agree with the criticism of the other reviewers. The drawings are unhelpful and the text is insufferable. Instead of a photo of my chosen palette in context, there is Krims' doodle of the Eiffel Tower. Instead of suggestions on how to use the "palamino" palette, I am subjected to a paragraph of trivia on how the horses are bred.

"The Perfect Palette", with more concrete examples and less fluff, could easily be one of the most effective and useful books of its type. I'm writing this review hoping to convince Krims that photos of rooms are neccessary, especially for the bolder palettes. Hopefully she'll include more of them in her next book.

Having recently purchased seven different books on interior color combinations and inspiration, this book is the most useless I now own. The "Pallets" are not that different from one another, the water-color drawings are almost irrelevant, the color chips are not related to photographs of rooms, the prose is overly romantic; and worst of all, we all do not live in Massachusetts! (Nor have most of us travelled abroad.) I did not find ideas here to use in my color decisions, and it will sit on the shelf gathering dust. Unless you're a beginner, buy Leatrice Eisman instead!

Comments: I found the book to be very helpful
I love this book. The one drawback that I have found is that Benjamin Moore has changed the numbers to the paint chips. I was able to find some of the old numbers and have my paint mixed, but when those recipes are gone from my local hardware store I will have to guess what color chips have replaced the old ones. I would like to see a new updated book. Without this book I would have struggled picking out paint colors and would not have put the right accent colors in the rooms.I am very happy with my choices.

Comments: The # 1 most worthless book you could ever buy!
The reveiws on this book had been so great. I bought this book THE PERFECT PALETTE to help me decide what color I should paint my house. This book did not help me nor did it help my sister (an art major in college) in any way, shape or form! We both felt buying this book was a total waste of our time and my money. If you really want to know information about colors, and the "do and don't" rules of picking the right color. Then your first "DON'T" you should be DON'T buy this worthless book! A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!

The color chips in this book are all pastel on the pages. Very hard to actually apply the information to select paint chips. I wouldn't recommend it. Try Annie Sloan's Color Schemes for Every room instead. You'll be much happier.

Comments: Cutesy and Corny- not an interior design book
Most of the 50 "palettes" are inspired by bad illustrations. There is very little photography showing these "palettes" used successfully in a home. You will need an outdated Benjamin Moore color sample deck to even attempt to comprehend these 50 design ideas since most of the "palettes" are simply 3 paint chips, poorly reproduced, with a bad cartoon like illustration using variations of those colors. I don't know how this book received so many positive reviews, perhaps from a 3rd grade art class. Don't waste your money and time.

Comments: Where are the example rooms?
This book contains 50 color palettes - each one with three paint samples (poorly reproduced) and a sample of the colors used together. Ocasionally, the sample is a photograph of a room (usually with colors far from the suggested palette). More often, the sample is an abstract painting of, say, a cyclist wearing a purple jersey with a green background. Not exactly practical...

Comments: For those with imaginations and lots of time on their hands!
There were not very many real-life applications in this book, which was very disappointing. The colors were more in the pastel range, and hardly any of the rooms shown contained a deep or bright color. If you are looking to introduce deep color into your home, skip this book and try Alice Westgate's "The Complete Color Directory". It's full of beautiful colors and even contains color swatches and how to's on using pigment for different effects.

I'M A BIG FAN OF THIS BOOK. IT HAS HELPED ME A GREAT DEAL IN PAINTING AND DECORATING MY HOME. I AM EQUALLY THRILLED THAT MS. KRIMS CAME OUT WITH ANOTHER PERFECT PALETTE BOOK. I JUST ORDERED A COPY AND CAN'T WAIT TO POUR OVER THE PAGES.
