From Desert and Oasis: Arts of the People of Central AsiaThis publication was created to accompany an exhibition at The Georgia Museum of Art. Guest curator George O'Bannon composed essays about the different creative styles of tribal groups in Central Asia. Pieces included in the exhibition were made mostly by nomadic people for everyday use. Urban artists designed the remainder of objects discussed in the publication. The book attempts to explore the cultural variety and significance of the exhibition.
