Q   can we put ceramic tiles in a family room, and then place good persian rugs over the tiles in certain areas and place furniture around that. so simply can we put ceramic tiles in a family room or not....

A

No problem on the use. You need to evaluate the floor system in place first to go forward. Tile requires firm support. The subfloor (1st layer), underlayment (2nd layer), span of the floor joist (the long things under the panels), spacing of the joist, and type and size are all determining factors on whether you can safely procced.

Also the total area has to be determined to find the right size of ceramic/porcelain tiles for your living room. For example: you cannot install a large 40x40(16x16) in small room. Also if you would like to change the area rug for a rosone (decorative tiles in 80x80/120x120 cm) you must design a laying composition in order to have the rosone installed perfectly.
